About Hadrien Roy

Hadrien Roy is a French-American dual citizen currently living in Tokyo, Japan. He was born and raised in Naples, Florida and had the opportunity to study at the University of Florida. During my time there, I worked with various robotics and engineering teams. Those experiences led to my passion for next-generation technology and guided me towards obtaining a Master’s in Robotics. In my Master’s program, I worked with ROS2 to develop a concept for multi-robot autonomous docking at Ecole Centrale de Nantes and Keio University.

Hadrien's Journey

Passions

Travel and Culture
Space
Nature
Music

I find happiness in discovering new places and meeting new people. Traveling allows me to broaden my perspective and have a more open view of the world. Learning about different people and their cultures has always been something I enjoy. It shows me that not everyone in the world is the same and that the differences can be a beautiful thing. When I travel I try to learn as much as I can and speak with locals to exchange culture.

I have always had a fascination with space ever since I was a child. It was this fascination that led me to read various books on space phenomena. I knew that I wanted to do something with my life that involved space and space travel. I decided to combine my passions of space and engineering and set my path on becoming a robotics engineer.

There’s never a day I go without listening to music. Music for me is the best way to lift my mood or keep me focused on my work. I used to play the clarinet, piano, and now am learning how to play the guitar.

There’s nothing like the great outdoors! I firmly believe that hiking and being outside are some of the best things you can do for your mental state of mind. It allows me to get away from everyday distractions and stresses and just focus on myself not to mention how beautiful the views are! I’ve been hiking around the US and hope to do more around the world.
